Dang Seva Mandal

Dang Seva Mandal was established by Hon’ble Dadasaheb Bidkar in 1937 and working only in remote adiwasi areas for education and awareness of swadeshi movement. They have nearly 17 schools and colleges which cater to the rural masses.

There were a few teachers from Dang Seva Mandal who had attended one of the open workshops in Integral Education. Based on their positive feedback, the management of Dang Seva Mandal approached the Foundation for arranging a workshop exclusively for the leadership group of Dang Seva Mandal. In response to this, the Foundation organized a 4 days workshop in Integral Education for the leadership group comprising of Principals, Vice-Principals and Supervisors of Dang Seva Mandal, at Abhona, Nashik. Around 31 teachers participated in this workshop 30th June to 3rd July 2019.

This is an on-going project where the Foundation is working with two batches of teachers of Sarasvati Education Society, Deolali, Nashik. A 3 days workshop on Basic Introduction to Integral Education was conducted for both the batches of teachers and subsequently till date, we have conducted four monthly mentoring and monitoring programs with them. A unique aspect of this workshop is that the management is also actively participating in these workshops. The management had expressed their desire that even the administrative staff and support staff should receive this kind of empowerment training and the Foundation will be soon conducting the same. In response, the Foundation conducted a few sessions with the administrative staff as well as the support staff. There is also a thought to address the leadership group as well as the parents of the students of SES. This is a conscious effort on the part of the management of SES and also the Foundation to cover all the stakeholders involved in the learning process. This will help to disseminate the essence of Integral Education to everyone concerned. The Foundation appreciates the conscious and sensitive approach of the management of SES to bring Integral Education approach to their schools.

We constantly strive to make our workshops more meaningful and useful for the teachers. For this, we have developed an assessment strategy in which we ask the participants of the three days workshop (both open and institutional workshops) to fill up an information form, a pre-workshop self-assessment form and a post-workshop assessment form.

There are many other schools who have contacted the Foundation after the Orientation Programs held at their schools and have expressed their wish to work with the Foundation to empower their teachers in the field of Integral Education.
